Entry Requirements: Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 mainly at Grade 4 or above.

Course Content:

 Studying the AAQ in IT will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills that will help prepare you for progression to apprenticeships and university. This qualification might suit you if you want to apply what you learn to practical, real-life contexts, such as: Spreadsheet and Database software, Digital Marketing and Analysis of Big Data. You will be assessed through exams and coursework (60% coursework/40% examination). Through the coursework elements you will plan, develop and review a data model that you create, as well as a relational database and digital marketing campaign. 

To prepare you for your next steps, you will also develop your skills in: 

  • Communication through having to communicate ideas in different ways to different stakeholders, much as you might be expected to in equivalent real-life situations.

  • Developing creativity through opportunities for planning creative solutions that meet the needs of different end users.

  • Developing skills of project-based working and time management and project management skills.

  • Skills of reflective learning by reflecting on the choices you made.

  • Developing presentation skills through presenting your ideas to people in different ways.

Future Prospects: This course is a stepping stone to a range of university courses including Business Analytics, Information Systems, Information Management, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Project Management and System Architecture.
